With the support of iCS, the summer course “Laws of nature, extractivism and climate litigation” united the discussion of socioenvironmental law and elements of application of the legal system
The summer course “Laws of nature, extractivism and climate litigation,” which was held on January 25-29 on an online platform, discussed the strengthening of mechanisms of social participation towards the energy matrix of Brazil and the energy transition capable of contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The course, promoted through a partnership between the Instituto Preservar, iCS, Institute for Research in Social Rights and Movements (IPDMS), Network of Popular Lawyers (RENAP), and the Committee to Combat Mega-Mining (CCM), among others, allowed law students, teachers, lawyers and other members of the legal system a training area that united the discussion of the socioenvironmental law and elements of application of the legal system. Caio Borges, coordinator of the iCS Law and Climate portfolio, took part in the discussion Climate Litigation I: Contemporary Panorama.
