Brazil is on the list of countries that do not guarantee environmental protection

In a historic decision, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child announced that five countries (Brazil, Argentina, France, Turkey and Germany) can be held directly responsible

The decision is historic: the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child announced that five countries, including Brazil, can be held directly responsible for not adopting sufficient measures to guarantee environmental protection. The journalist Jamil Chad, in his column at UOL, recalls that the case was presented two years ago by young activists from some countries, including the Brazilian Catarina Lorenzo, from Salvador, and Swedish activist Greta Thunberg. According to the committee, "a state can be held responsible for the negative impact of its carbon emissions on the rights of the child both inside and outside its territory."
