iCS grantees participate in the ABCR Festival

We organized, in partnership with the Oak Foundation, the institutional capacity building project for grantees, demonstrating fundraising strategies. See some results from the final evaluation of the ABCR Festival

iCS, with the support of a contracted consultancy firm, organized a Capacity Building project with grantees. In its 11th edition, the ABCR Festival is the largest fundraising conference in Latin America and one of the most important in the world. It was held on June 9-11, 2019, at the Frei Caneca Convention Center, in São Paulo. With the theme "The Future of Fundraising in the Brazil of the Future," the event attracted over 800 participants.

We supported 37 grantees with enrollments, flight tickets and accommodations

A brief appraisal from those who participated at the ABCR Festival (the Brazilian Association of Fundraisers) indicated that most of the participants (over 60%) had no previous fundraising experience, although almost 80% of the grantees have this as one of their attributions. Among the aspects that were best evaluated on the subject was the political scenario in the context of fundraising, while networking was the worst rated. In relation to the festival, over 40% of those interviewed replied that their expectations regarding the festival were met – nobody answered negatively.
